Current Role: Service Team Leader at Inmar

What and where did you study before your Mountbatten internship?
I studied Government - International Studies, Campbell University, North Carolina, USA

What made you apply for the Mountbatten programme?
I wanted first-hand business experience in a non-American setting and was interested in tying that to furthering my education.

Describe your sponsor company and your role within it.
I worked at Deutsche Bank as a Business Analyst within an IT Change Management organization.

What was the highlight/most memorable moment of your working experience during this year?
Working with clients on their requests for enhancements to a customer interface platform provided by the bank.

What was the social highlight/most memorable moment during this year?
It's a toss up between being in London for the Royal Wedding (Will & Kate) and going to Edinburgh for Hogmanay.

Please share a little wisdom/philosophy that you acquired during your internship
Never be afraid to ask questions! You aren't judged by the questions you ask but by your lack of them (and then always write down the answer).

If you could change anything about your internship, what would it be?
Maybe have it be a little longer.

What happened after completing the year - what did you do next?
I continued with DB in the same role in a different location for a couple of years.

Where are you now in your working life and what do you do?
After a few years with Deutsche Bank and several in corporate retail, I am currently at Inmar which is an IT and services company based out of Winston-Salem, NC. I work as a Service Team Leader in Pharmacy Financial Management Client Services (essentially advocating for and streamlining client service practices).

Do you have any future plans that you would like to realise & what are they (career & social)?
I would like to work overseas again and continue travelling!
